The Story of Timo Werner
At the age of eight, Timo joined the Stuttgart Academy and also impressed the coaches with his speed and strength. Timo Werner started his club career in the 2012-13 season for Stuttgart's Under-19s, scoring 24 goals. At the time, he was only sixteen years old and a student at the Stuttgart High School.
In 2013, he was selected for the Bundesliga, making 30 appearances in the 2013-2014 season. And became the youngest player in Bundesliga history to score two goals in a single game. On March 6, 2014, when he turned 18, he signed a professional contract with VfB Stuttgart, playing 32 games in the 2014-2015 season and 33 in the Bundesliga in the 2015-2016 season. During his tenure at VfB Stuttgart, he scored 13 goals in 95 games.
In 2016, VfB Stuttgart was relegated, so Timo Werner was forced to move to newly formed RB Leipzig.
In May 2017, he was part of the German team for the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup and scored his first international goal against Cameroon on 25 June.
On June 18, 2020, he signed with the Premier League club Chelsea with an annual salary of 5 million euros. He made his league debut on September 14, 2020. On September 29, 2020, Timo Werner scored his first Chelsea goal in a 1-1 draw with Tottenham. On 29 May 2021, he won his first-ever Champions League after Chelsea defeated Manchester City in the final in Porto.
On 9 January 2024, Werner joined Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur on loan until the end of the 2023–24 season, with an option for the transfer to become permanent at the end of the season. Later that year in late May, Tottenham extended Werner's spell for a season-long loan with an option to buy clause in the region of £8.5 million.Werner scored his first goal of the 2024–25 season on 30 October in the fifth minute during a League Cup tie against Manchester City, which Tottenham went on to win 2–1 to advance to the quarterfinals.
