N'Golo Kanté
N'Golo Kanté, born on March 29, 1991, is a highly regarded French professional footballer who currently serves as a defensive midfielder for the Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad and the France national team. In terms of the national team, Kanté helped the French national men's football team secure the runner-up position in the 2016 UEFA European Championship. Kanté made his senior international debut for France in 2016. In 2017 Kanté was named the French Player of the Year, a first for a player from the Premier League in seven years. 12 months later he was a key member of the 2018 FIFA World Cup winning squad. Kanté was a key part of the team which won the 2018 World Cup but he last played a competitive game for France in the Nations League in June 2022. A hamstring injury meant he missed the World Cup in Qatar that year, when France was runner-up to Argentina.

In the summer of 2016, Kanté transferred to Chelsea Football Club. In 2023, Saudi officials had travelled to London for talks with Kante. It is understood that Kante will earn a whopping €200m over two years at Al-Ittihad.
