Robert Lewandowski

Robert Lewandowski, born on August 21, 1988, in Warsaw, Poland, is a Polish professional football player and captain of the Polish national team. As a striker, he currently plays for Barcelona in the La Liga.

club career

  ♠ Dortmund

In the summer of 2010, Lewandowski moved to Dortmund and won the Bundesliga in his first season. In 2011, he won the Polish Footballer of the Year award.

In the 2011-12 season, Lewandowski scored 22 goals and 8 assists in 34 league appearances.

In the 2012-13 season, Lewandowski scored 10 goals in the Champions League, surpassing the famous player Wozca who scored 8 goals, and became the Polish player with the most goals in the Champions League.

On July 1, 2014, striker Lewandowski moved to Bayern

At the beginning of the 2014-15 new season, Lewandowski wore the No. 9 shirt and replaced Mario Mandzukic, who was about to leave the team, as the new striker arrow at the Allianz Arena.

In the 2019-20 season, Lewandowski played the best season of his career. He represented Bayern Munich in 47 appearances, scoring 55 goals and contributing 10 assists, helping Bayern be crowned in the club's history. The second "Triple Crown".

♠ Barcelona

In July 2022, the La Liga club Barcelona announced that Lewandowski had joined the team and purchased it from Bayern Munich for 50 million euros.

On 16 January 2023, he scored the second goal in the 2023 Supercopa de España final, as Barcelona defeated Real Madrid 3–1 in El Clásico, winning his first title with the club.  By the end of the 2022–23 La Liga season, Lewandowski won his first Pichichi Trophy with 23 goals in 34 matches,

On 7 December 2024, he netted a goal in a 2–2 draw against Real Betis.By scoring the goal, Lewandowski reached 16 goals in his first 16 La Liga matches, equalling a record achieved by Lionel Messi during the 2018-2019 season.

♠ National team career

In 2014, Lewandowski became the captain of the Polish national team.

On March 29, 2022, Lewandowski scored a penalty kick in the 2022 World Qualifiers European play-off final to help Poland beat Sweden 2-0 at home and advance to the World Cup finals. With 75 goals, he is tied with Hungary's Keqis, and has risen to the third place in the scorer list of European players and national teams.

In June 2024, he was named in the final 26-man squad for UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany.

With 84 international goals, Lewandowski is the all-time top scorer for Poland and the fourth overall men's international goalscorer in Europe. He won IFFHS World's Best International Goal Scorer Award in 2015 and 2021, IFFHS World's Best Top Goal Scorer Award in 2020 and 2021, and IFFHS World's Best Top Division Goal Scorer Award in 2021.   He also won the IFFHS World's Best Player in 2020 and 2021 and the European Golden Shoe for the 2020–21 and 2021–22 seasons.
