The story of Serge David Gnabry
At the age of four, he joined the local football club TSV Weissach. He has since changed clubs several times, but joined his hometown club VfB Stuttgart in 2006.
Serge Gnabry is a German professional footballer who currently plays as a winger for Bayern Munich and the German national team in the Bundesliga. In 2016 he returned to Germany to play one season for the Bundesliga side Werder Bremen. Later, he was signed by Bayern Munich, during which time he also played a season on loan at Hoffenheim. In 2018, he started playing for Bayern Munich and won Bayern Munich Player of the Season (2018-2019) and Bundesliga Player of the Month (October 2019). In international football, in 2016, Serge Gnabry was called up to the German national team. That same year, he was part of the German Summer Olympic squad, and he was the top scorer at the event.
In the 2019-2020 season, he scored 23 goals in 46 appearances, including 9 goals in 10 Champions League appearances. And surprisingly, he won his first Champions League title by beating Paris Saint-Germain in the final.
In 2020, Gnabry and Bayern Munich won the DFL Super Cup, European Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup. Meanwhile, while playing for the German national team, he scored his 10th goal in his 11th appearance. In July 2022, he signed a new contract with Bayern Munich until June 2026. He finished the 2022–23 season as Bayern's top scorer in Bundesliga with 14 goals, and joint-top scorer in all competitions along with Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, by netting 17 goals in total. On 8 May 2024, he sustained a hamstring injury during the 2023–24 Champions League semi-final match against Real Madrid, further adding to his season plagued by muscle injuries, which would force him to miss the upcoming Euro 2024. Gnabry scored his first goal of the 2024–25 Bundesliga season in Bayern Munich's 3–2 win over Wolfsburg on 25 August 2024.
